Synopsis Merry Circus (Circul Vesel)

Mina and Carol have been married for 55 years. They were both circus artists. Mina is 75 years-old and Carol is 84 years-old, they have a daughter, two grandchildren and a 4 year-old great-granddaughter. Carol is Toma Zdebschi’s son, one of the first circus owners from Romania. After the communists took control of Romania, the Romanian circuses were taken over by the state. Carol was forced to give away the name of “Globus Circus”, this name being used now by the circus owned by the state. The couple retired in 1992 and currently they live in their house from the Rahova neighborhood, Bucharest. In their front yard we can still see the wagon they travelled across the country with. Every year, on August 29^th, family and friends gather to celebrate Carol’s birthday.
