Independent Producers International Film Festival
Fifth Edition, June 30-July 4, 2010

The Independent Producers International Film Festival – IPIFF, is organized by the Film and Audiovisual Producers' Union of Romania / The Patronage of Film and Television Producing Companieswith the support of the  National Film Center.

IPIFF primarily aims to promote ROMANIAN FILM and the identity and personality of the FILM  PRODUCER.

The fifth edition will take place in Constanta - Mamaia, between June 30 and July 4, 2010.

 

The festival will include the following sections:

 

            I. Official Competition:

1. The Filmmakers' Competition

                        a)Fiction Feature Film Producers' Competition

                        b) Documentary Feature Film Producers' Competition

                        c)Short Fiction Film Producers' Competition

                        d) Animation Film Producers' Competition

2. Film School Competition.

            II. Panorama of European Film

Panorama of European Film awards will include award winning films from the major European festivals  purchased by Romanian distributors.

           III. Special events and workshops.

 

 

Selected films must meet the following conditions:

To have been officially premiered last year (July 2009 - July 2010).

The support film must be on 35mm film (except for film schools who may present their work in analog format - Beta, or digital - DIGIBETA cassettes, DVD s).

All feature films must be presented in the original version with subtitles or simultaneous translation into Romanian. It is recommended that films are subtitled in English.


 
Film producers from Romania will grant, through their vote, to the best Romanian producers the following awards:

 
                        "The Black Sea Trophy" - for fiction film

                        "The Black Sea Trophy" - for documentary film

                        "The Black Sea Trophy" - for short film

                        "The Black Sea Trophy" - for animation film

 
   A jury of five members will grant the following awards to the Film School Competition:

                        "The Black Sea Trophy" -  for best film school

                        "The Black Sea Trophy" - for best director

                        "The Black Sea Trophy" - for image

                        "The Black Sea Trophy" - award for best screenplay

 

  Another prize will be:

                        "The Black Sea Trophy" - Audience Award

 

Film and Audiovisual Producers' Union of Romania -The Patronage of Film and Television Producing Companieswill grant two special awards:

"The Black Sea Trophy" - Indie film award (100% independent production )

"The Black Sea Trophy" - Award of Excellence


 To participate in the fifth edition of  IPIFF the following conditions must be met:

 
The entry form along with a DVD and a synopsis must be sent to the festival until June 15, 2010 (for film schools).

Materials have to be accompanied by the list of dialogues(in English or French) and have to be sent to the following address  Dem. I. Dobrescu 4-6, Building B, 3rd floor, Cam.44, sect.1, code 010026 Bucharest, Romania. Deadline for receipt of selected films in the original copy is June 25, 2010.

Press and publicity materials for each selected film (10 press books and10 photographs, a Beta film presentation  and ten posters / fliers) must arrive at the festival June 25, 2010 the latest.

 

Rules for pre-selection:

 
DVD's and VHS tapes (PAL) have to be sent by courier or airmail to our address until June 25, 2010. Film blocks will not be returned unless the sender has paid their postage in advance.

Transport costs for the print (round trip) will be borne by competitors.

The Festival's insurance policy covers fire, theft, damage or loss of the film during the event..

The Festival will decide the order and the time the films will be projected.

The festival is open to the public. An important number of accredited print and audio-visual journalists, as well as distributors, will be present at the event.

Participation in the Festival implies the unconditional acceptance of all provisions of the regulation. To send the film, press releases and publicity materials for the festival is, in itself, an agreement to all the regulations and 
it authorizes the Festival to:
    

  •     Broadcast max three minute film excerpts on television and / or public spaces to promote the Festival
  •     Present max three minutes extracts of film on the Festival website.
  •     Keep above mentioned extracts from movies and use them to promote the festival anytime.
  •     Not to project every film / title over three times during the festival, according to international regulations.
