One of the unique features of IPIFF is it's beach cinema. It is true, that this year it was not exactly on the beach but two steps away from the sea, at Hotel Flora's Terrace.
If it was the film selection, the closseness to the sea or the unconventional setting, the fact is that the night time projections have attracted more spectators than expected. Withougt the constraints of traditional cinema people relaxed over a beer or a glass of wine.
The projection of the film "When I want to whistle, I whistle"gathered up a record number of spectators. It all culminated with Thursday night's projection of "Auntie" by: Serban Marinescu that kept the public turned on. And when the title screen appeared, the audience demanded for one more screening. The projectionist agreed to also put "The Concerto" by Radu Mihaileanu, originally scheduled for the sedcond day. The Publics feedback was in perfect syncrony with the emotions of the characters : laughter and sighs were heard at each sequence and the end was applauded enthusiastically.
